Whats the one things that you were terrified about when you first started out in your business?
Spamming people with what you're selling right?
The thing is you MUST promote in order to create a profitable business. But guess what?!?! There are simple ways to share your opportunities without sounding like a broken record!
So, if you don’t wanna be that sleepy car salesman I’ve got 10 tips on how to share genuinely so that you build relationships, lasting friendships, and long term customers!
1. Know Who Your Audience Is
Before you start promoting make sure who you are talking to are people actually interested in what you have to offer! There is nothing worse than being online and getting a message from a friend you haven’t talked to in weeks/months/years who has joined a new business and sends you a message to announce it while asking you to take a look/participate/buy. (insert eye roll) I know you are thinking about someone right now.
2. Know What You Have To Offer
This truly is a no brainer. If you don’t know what you have to offer you can’t promote yourself properly. Know what you have so that you can share it with those who are interested.
3. Believe In Your Product
You can NOT promote something you do not believe in and you can not promote something you don’t use. If you are talking about a product you are not 100% in love with people will see through you. When they see through you they will not buy from you.
When a friend goes to Starbucks and LOVES their new holiday peppermint latte they share their experience with you. “OMGosh it was like the most delicious thing i’ve ever had, It was hot but cool because of the peppermint, it made my insides feel like Christmas, and it put me in such an awesome mood for the rest of the day!!!” You can tell that your friend loved the new Starbucks drink and chances are the next time you go you will be ordering one because you have GOT to experience what she was talking about! This is the same with your product. If you can’t talk this excitedly about what it is you have for sale you will not be able to convince people the product is worth purchasing and you will not be able to make the income you desire.
4. Add Value
Anytime you share your product with your audience think of how you can add value to what you're sharing. What can you offer them that will help them in their lives in someway? Maybe a nugget of wisdom, a tip for their day, or maybe even a freebie of something.
5. Share Your Story
People love to work with others who have had experiences they are having. If a stay at home mom is struggling but wants to start an online business but has struggled with figuring out what to do, where to start, how to get going they will turn to some other SAHM who has been there and done that. A person with a significant amount of weight to lose wants to workout and be encouraged by someone who has struggled just like they have. People love to be able to connect with others. If you can share a story about how you used your product and it somehow changed your life the more genuine you come across to your audience.
6. Don’t Compete With Others On Social Media
SERIOUSLY JUST DON’T DO IT! Theres not a single person on this planet exactly like you even if they have products like yours. By trying to measure your progress to someone else will only hold you back. If your upline, your business coach, your friend/family member is ahead of your in business or financially you can use their placements for encouragement but never compare your successes to theirs.
Don’t be a dill weed to others in business either. As in, done bad mouth your competition because it makes you look weak and jealous and thats not who others want to work with. Rather, encourage others around you and I promise you will see growth.
7. Respond To Your Audience When They Ask Questions
As social media is the BEST way to share its also the perfect place to talk with your audience. When someone has a particular problem that you have a solution to RESIST the urge to post your link and say “check out my website for help!” **IIIICCCCCCKKKKKK**
Instead… when someone shares their problem (that you have a solution to) genuinely show concern, ask questions, get to know the root of the problem before EVER sharing your product. A person who feels as though you care about them more than your bottom line is a customer for life!
8. Promote Others
This sounds TERRIFYING I know! Trust me, when I first started out in business for myself 6 years ago I was like “ummm hell no, I’m not sharing that persons stuff, it’s exactly the same as mine!”. I was terrified people would by from the person I shared and not me. Well i’ll be honest that does happen now and then BUT it comes back to you ten fold. Your audience sees you as a team player, they see you as someone who is supportive, they see you as caring, and when it comes time to fix their problem with the solution you have they will remember you because of this. SOOOO share it up! Give props to others! share the wealth!
9. Offer Freebies
Now don’t misunderstand me, I’m not saying give away everything and the kitchen sink. But share your knowledge with others.
If you are the master of essential oils share the many uses of them with your audience, if you are the master of eating clean share some simple snack options to help curb cravings, if you are the master of lipstick colors share when to wear red, you get the idea. You are only going to help enhance the confidence your audience has for you and your products by continually offering help.
10. Be Genuine
This is something I shouldn’t have to explain but I will anyway. Before you EVER promote yourself or your product think about how you are going to share, ask yourself if you sound like and icky car salesman, and put yourself in your audiences shoes-will what your saying come off pushy or annoying?
Share with your audience the way you’d like info/products presented to you ;-)
Now take these tools and go PROMO your business like a boss!

Marketing can be difficult if you don’t have a strategy. You need to market your business in order to:
There are so many ways to market your business today, TONS of ways. Today I want to talk about 5 SUPER EASY ways you can share your business with large numbers of people! 1. Social Media With social media the possibilities are literally endless. You have the ability to reach your audience on a multitude of platforms. Simply pick your platforms and beginning sharing the value your product has to offer. 2. E-mail Your List If you have a list, which you should, this is a perfect way to market your business. The people on your list have already subscribed to your information, they want what you have to offer, so share what you’ve got with those who want it the most. If you don’t already have a list yet check out the 5 top reasons why you should start one here --> 5 Reason To Start Your List <-- 3. Ask For Referrals This is an easy way to market without being pushy. Reach out to your friends, family, acquaintances, business associates, etc. and let them know that you have something you’d love to share. Let them know that if they know anyone who might be interested you’d love to chat with them. 4. Host Free Trainings Record a quick video, do a live stream, do a snapchat/IG story, type something out, whatever you prefer and share it with your audience. At the end of your trainings promote what you have in order to help those interested in continuing to further themselves or their interests. 5. Attend Networking Events There are a number of places entrepreneurs go to get together. You can use social media to get in touch with others in your area. You can do in person meet and greets or you could do virtual meet and greets. This allows you the chance to meet new people, share your business, and network with others. You have the tools, now its time to get to work! Until Next Time Mommas, xoxo Lauren P.S. I'd love to hear from you, what are you favorite ways to market your business?
Social media can be the BIGGEST blessing for your business or it can cause problems for your business. You can reach an infinite amount of people through social media, as it is the most widely used source of information today. But when it comes to running your business on social media there are a number of mistakes many business owners make. While these mistakes are not made intentionally they are still things that can be avoided with a little bit of awareness and effort.
I will be honest, I made a number of these mistakes when I first got into business. I don’t want you all to make the same mistakes I made ;-)
I want to cover the top 10 social media mistakes many business owners are making. Take a look and then evaluate your social media platforms to see if there are areas that you can improve on.
1. No Social Media Plan- If you don’t have goals or know where you're going to spend your energy you wont be able to track your success. Plan to share on certain days, at certain times, certain pieces of information so that you can see who is following, what your audience enjoys, and what will or wont work for your brand.
2. No Content Strategy- Content leads to conversion, conversations build relationships, relationship create customers, customers generate income. SHARE SHARE SHARE!!
3. No Consistent Presence- Sharing here and there with your e-mail list, blog, Facebook, IG, Pinterest, etc. will lead to a lack of following or interest. Show up everyday on your platforms, share engaging content, and show excitement about your business and what it can do for your audience.
4. Not Acting Like A Human Being- Speak to your audience on social media the way you’d like to be treated in person. The way you speak with your audience sets the tone for your business.
5. No Commitment to Social Media- So many who start new businesses online will start a social media page, go gung ho at first, and a short six months later have all but abandoned their social media presence because it is not made a priority. Commit to sharing on social media at least once a day in order to stay present for your audience.
6. No Responses To Comments- When your audience comments on your content you should reply to encourage their future participation. Happy audience will lead to happy customers.
7. No Brand Consistency- Make sure your brand is something memorable for your audience. Use the same colors, use the same fonts, use the same tone, etc on ALL platforms that you choose to use.
8. No Lead Generator- If you are encouraging your audience to subscribe to your e-mail list you are leaving money on the table. By capturing e-mails you have a list of of individuals who values the information you are providing. You will be able to share your paid offers with them and the chances of purchases are more likely.
9. No Description- When you set up your page you should complete all areas of information. If you simply say “Hi, I’m So and So” but never tell them about you or your business you are not giving them a reason to follow you or show interest in you. Give some information about who you are and what you can do for your audience!
10. Not Having Fun- If you are always black tie and jacket your audience may see you as a corporate robot and show less interest. If you are running a business for pet grooming share cute pictures of the pups you groom. If you are run an accounting firm share a story about a client who had great success because of the work you did. Be human, be relatable, be excited about your business!
I have NO doubt that you are rocking your business, I have no doubt that you WILL succeed, I have NO doubt that whatever your goals are you will reach them. I just want to make sure that you aren't missing some of the simple, yet often over looked, elements of running a business on social media!
A large portion of these involved being present for your audience while remaining personable. This was one of my biggest hurdles in the beginning but with a little practice it becomes second nature.

Until Next Time Mommas,
xoxo Lauren You're a business owner now, WAAAHOOOOO!! Now it’s time to get organized and run your business like you are a fortune five hundred company! When it comes to your “work schedule” I KNOW it’s all over the place, you're a mom ;-) BUT when you do have the chance to work you need to treat your business like a business. You should have a plan of “attack” to accomplish what needs done in order to reach your goals. While mompreneur life isn’t the easiest it’s not impossible. I’ve put together a list of 10 habits you should get into, if you haven’t already, in order to see max results from your work! 1. Start Fresh Every Day No matter what struggles you had yesterday in your business they happened yesterday. Start each day with a clean slate/attitude so that your mind is clear and you can focus on making new waves. 2. Provide Value Daily Every day that you are sharing information with your audience make sure you are sharing value. Don’t simply post a photo of your product or a “buy me now” post. Offer something to your audience that will in some way impact their day/week/year/life. If the oils you sell somehow get your work juices flowing and keep your focused share how you are turning on your diffuser to help keep you motivated and diving into work. If your superfood shake keeps you awake and full so that you can focus on your tasks share how you wont have to worry about lunch since you have your shake ready to go for your work session. You're not saying “buy me” in other share but you have showed that the two products have in some way benefit you and your audience will see how they could potentially benefit from using the products too. VALUE! 3. Keep A Master List Of To-Do’s While you will always work from a daily To-Do list it is a great idea to keep a “master” to do list of big projects or tasks that need completed. This is super handy because you can pause at any point and add something to that list, a do later, so that you don’t have to stop your work flow and complete it then. Once it’s on the master To-Do list you can come back to it, work it into to your next schedule block, or save it for a later date when you have more time to focus on it. This helps free up the work time you have going on and frees your mind from constantly trying to remember to come back to XYZ project. 4. Thank Your Customers Your audience is made up of customers who love your products, use your products, refer your products and every once in awhile they love to hear they are appreciated (everyone does). Every once in awhile share how thankful you are for your customers, their loyalty, their encouragement, their you name it. It is always nice to feel appreciated (no one knows this better than a mom). By sharing your appreciation for your customers you will create positivity amongst you, your business, and the type of sales person you are. 5. Collect E-mail Addresses If you aren’t already capturing e-mail addresses I HIGHLY suggest you do it NOW, like YESTERDAY NOW! If you want to get tips on how to grow your e-mail list check out my blog here --> Grow Your E-mail List <-- By collecting e-mails you can easily share your offers, you can communicate one-one with your audience, you have the ability to be heard by those who are interested in your products specifically, you don’t have to worry about a social media platform changing and your audience not seeing what you share, and you have the ability to get feedback from those who want what you have the most. 6. Send A Newsletter Now that you are collecting e-mail addresses you should be regularly corresponding with those who have entrusted their e-mail addresses to you. **While I don't suggest e-mailing your list "daily" I do suggest you take notes each day that you can share with them on the days you decide are best to e-mail them** Share with them struggles, successes, new products, new ways to use products, client success stories, whatever they want to hear share it with them. A weekly, biweekly, or monthly newsletter can be such an easy way to remain connected with your audience and offer them exactly what they are looking for. 7. Use Social Media To Engage Your Audience You have social media platforms easily at your fingertips, it’s time to put them to work! Social media can be the BIGGEST blessing for your business because your audience is there and ready to listen. They are scrolling through Facebook, IG, Pinterest, Linked In, etc DAILY. Why not share with them what you have going on. The more value you offer, the more they will remember you in association with your product, the more they are likely to purchase from you, the more they will refer you when you their friends are looking for what you offer. The possibilities are endless through the use of social media. 8. Listen To Your Audience When you are wondering what you should be offering your audience simply ask them. Ask them via e-mail, social media platform, or in person. Ask how you can best serve them and then provide. When you are giving your audience what they want the most you are creating life long customers. 9. Read Personal Development I promise you, whatever you are struggling with someone else has already struggled through it and will have written a book about it. READ THAT BOOK! Avoid making simple mistakes by constantly exploring the ways of others who are more successful than you. If you are looking for book suggestions check out my --> Top 10 MUST Read Personal Development Books <-- 10. Always Learn NEVER, I repeat NEVER stop learning. I promise you do not know everything there is to know about business. Those fortune 500 companies don't know all there is to know about business but they make it a point to always invest in themselves and their businesses through training. I’m certainly NOT saying spend 5K on a training seminar if thats not in your families budget but I do suggest you find some sort of training that will help take your business to the next step. Hire a business coach, take an online course, take a college course. No matter what you decide to do just do something that will keep you moving forward. I have a 4 Week Training Course For the Busy Mompreneur --> 4 Week Training <-- For those moms who know they are meant for more and want to get started building their businesses without struggling to figure out what puzzle pieces their missing. I share video tutorials, step by step instructions, outlines, interactive handouts, and unlimited support for those who are READY to dive into a business! No matter where you are in your business its a good idea to develop healthy habits for your work day! Until Next Time Mommas,
xoxo Lauren
MLM-Network Marketing companies are a FANTASTIC way to earn income. A part time income, a semi full time income, a way to make six-figures if you really buckle down and work for it. The skies the limit when it comes to network marketing.
Having been a network marketer before I saw the dynamics of the organizations, how to make the most of it, but I also saw quickly what were absolute no-no’s, don’t do’s, you’re sabotaging your business mistakes that so often were taught but never taken seriously. Now, i’m not an active network marketer anymore as I branched out into my own business, however I now coach a LOT of moms who are running network marketing businesses. Many of these moms receive great training by their companies, their uplines, and friends. But there are a number of network marketers who somehow think the training and rules don't apply and they just WING IT, if you will. Let me just say this is a HORRIBLE idea because in the end you wont see your business grow and you will likely burn a number of bridges in the process. There are only so many times your friends can receive the same “Hey I going XYZ company and I’m just in LOVE with it, are you interested in buying-seeing-taking a look at my product” without you actually asking how they’ve been or talking to them regularly.
Like I said, I was a network marketer and I did quite well for myself. However, it was not an easy beginning for me and I'm here to share my mistakes (and mistakes of others i’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with) to help you avoid them too!
1. If you don’t love the product…. DON’T sell it!!
First and foremost, for the love of all that is holy, do not try and sell a product you yourself have not used or enjoy using. You must first be a customer before you can be a sales person. I promise you will NOT make a ton of money selling something you don’t use yourself. I have sadly witnessed a number of people who get into network marketing because someone told them they could make money and lots of it. They didn’t think about the product they would be selling they simply had their eyes on the prize of money. BIG MISTAKE! If I never worked out a day in my life or simply hated working out I wouldn’t sell fitness programs. People will see right through you if you are not a product of the product.
2. Don’t Lie
While this should be common sense it is sadly overlooked more than it should be. When you are talking to a potential customer do not tell them something about your product that you simply can verify. That wrap will NOT make you lose 20 lbs, this pink drink will NOT make you skinny in a week, this oil will NOT make your life calmer all around, no you can NOT eat what you want-workout and get the goal body you want, no these leggings will NOT make you instantly more attractive to others, no your crows feet will not disappear as soon as you rub this cream on them the first time….. Do you see where I'm going with this?
Share with people actual information and I assure you that you will create life long customers through honesty. Results will vary from person to person- truth. This company does not guarantee any level of income- truth. You will not see instant success you must work for it but it can pay off if you do so - truth. You will have clearer and more younger looking skin but it is a process - truth. Again, you don’t need to make things more shiny than they are to make a sale, you simply need to be honest. Because those people looking for quick fixes will not be the long term customers you are looking for. ALSO, do not go around telling people you make consistent 4-5 figures a week/month if you’re not making that. I promise people will see right through it. While there may be some people who are gullible and will follow you in hopes of doing the same, the others who are already skeptical will go check out your social media platforms to see if what your saying matches your lifestyle. If you're making 5 figures each week but you’ve got grainy cell phone photos someones going to wonder why you can’t afford a better phone for better pictures. If you're saying your making 4 figure each week yet your saying how you're not sure if you’ll have enough money for groceries this month you might lose some followers and potential clients. If you're saying your making 5 figures a week and only have 100 or less followers combined on your platforms someone may call horsehockey. <— All scenarios that I’ve seen first hand.
Just don’t lie, be 100% honest with your audience and you will grow much quicker and achieve the long term customers you're hoping for!
3. Don’t Be Shy
It’s fantastic that you have a lot of friends on social media. That will come in handy when you start your business but I promise it’s not enough to sustain a long term business. While your friends and family love you, they can only take your business posts and messages for so long before they become annoyed. You need to branch out and “network” in order to grow your audience of individuals who are interested in what you have to offer. You must be willing to get out of your comfort zone in order to reach new people. Find others who you have common interest with and make a connection with them. NO i don’t mean someone loves puppies and so do you so send them a message about your business and offers. I'm saying find someone else who loves puppies and send them a message about their furkid, ask them questions, get to know them, build a relationship. Overtime you can introduce your opportunity to them but you must first build a solid foundation with them before pitching to them. This is also a great way to make lasting friendships too!
4. Giving Up
Running an MLM/Network Marketing business can be hard! But it’s NOT impossible. You are going to hear NO a LOT but you have to keep pushing forward. There isn’t a single thing on this planet that will give you everything you ever want instantly and network marketing will be the same. I guarantee when your upline present the idea to you they did not get a YES LETS DO THIS from you at first. I’d bet money that your upline heard no from you a number of times before you decided to jump onboard with the opportunity. Now that you're here do not quit! You CAN do anything you put your mind to, but it is going to take some work, struggle, a lot of no’s, and persistence.
It’s time to go set and crush your goals!
Be you, be authentic, be bold, be awesome, and never give up!
